There’s one route operated between Dunkirk and England, which is the Dunkirk-Dover ferry crossing.

DFDS is the only ferry operator sailing on the cross-Channel route, offering up to 11 crossings daily each way. Additional sailings are put on during the school holidays, providing even more choice for when you travel. Although foot passengers are not permitted on the service, you can still pick up great deals on tickets with prices starting from just over £80 each way.

Facilities at Dunkirk Ferry Port
At Dunkirk Ferry Port you’ll find a shop, public toilets, lockers, a baby changing room and facilities for those with limited mobility. There are also a couple of vending machines, but you may want to pack a picnic if you’d like a more substantial meal while waiting for your ferry back to Dover.
Free parking for short term stays is available to DFDS customers and can be found in front of the main DFDS office at the terminal.

Getting to Dunkirk
The DFDS Dunkirk Ferry Port terminal is located approximately 10 miles south-west of the town itself and has great links to the express road network. The Port address is DFDS Dunkirk (Dunkerque) Car Ferry Terminal, Port 5670, Route de la Maison Blanche, 59279 Loon-Plage
🚗 By car: If you’re travelling from Belgium use the A16 motorway and take Exit 53 for Dunkirk. The terminal can also be reached via the A25 from Lille or the A1/A26 from Paris.
🚈 By train: The train station at Dunkirk is a 10 mile (25 minute taxi ride) from the DFDS ferry port. Services from the station include high speed trains to Paris and Lille, together with regional trains to Arras and Calais.

Dunkirk Ferry Port is usually not as busy as Calais due the number of companies operating on the Dover-Calais route. It’s also closer to the Belgium border and is often a better option for those travelling north of France.
You can reach the border between France and Belgium in about 30 minutes from Dunkirk ferry terminal. Bruges is around 60 miles from the port and Brussels is just under 110 miles away.
