Facilities on the Portsmouth to Caen Route
Brittany Ferries usually use the Normandie and Mont St Michel for the Portsmouth-Caen crossing. Both are cruise ferries with a capacity for over 2,000 passengers each.
The Normandie offers a range of onboard facilities including live entertainment and a duty free boutique. You can enjoy a la carte at Le Deauville, or use the self-service Riva Bella for a quick bite. During daytime sailings why not soak up the sunshine on the main sun deck, or keep the family entertained in the cinema during wetter crossings.
Boasting a similar range of facilities to the Normandie, the Mont St Michel really caters to the family during peak season. With everything from silent discos to interactive quizzes, kids of all ages will be entertained during the 6 hour voyage.
Like other sailings operated by Brittany Ferries, cabins are compulsory on all overnight crossings, with the option to upgrade to a cabin with a window. All 2 berth cabins have bunk style beds and ensuite facilities. 4 berth cabins have twin (in Commodore class) or bunk style beds and come complete with air conditioning.
The Normandie has wheelchair accessible outside cabins, while the Mont St Michel offers both inside and outside wheelchair accessible cabins in addition to specially designed pet-friendly 4 berth cabins.
