One operator, DFDS, offers sailings between Newhaven and Dieppe. These are run up to three times daily each way in the summer months and up to twice daily during quieter months. DFDS uses two ships on the crossing, which are both fully equipped to make your journeys as enjoyable as possible. Getting to Newhaven
The Newhaven ferry terminal is located just off the A26 and can be easily accessed by both rail and road networks. The Port address is Newhaven Ferry Port, Railway Approach, Newhaven, BN9 0DF
🚗 By car: The A23 and A27 roads will offer the most convenient routes for the majority of people travelling to the port. From the north take the M23 motorway south of the M25 towards Brighton. Join the A27 eastbound in the direction of Lewes. When you reach Beddingham take the A26 southbound to Newhaven.
🚈 By train: Newhaven Town train station is under a 5 minute walk to the ferry terminal. Although direct services aren’t available from London, you can travel via Lewes or get a direct service from Brighton.

Check-in usually opens 90 minutes before the sailing time and closes 45 minutes before. As there are often delays on the M25 it’s advised that you allow plenty of time to get to Newhaven (quite a lot of facilities are available in the nearby town area).
The ferry from Newhaven to Dieppe usually takes 4 to 5 hours on average. Due to time differences you’ll lose an hour on the way to France and gain an hour on your return.
You can park at the terminal from £5 per day (24 hour period). Spaces are limited and bookings must be made at the terminal reservation desk.
